Well that was a lovely bit of mind-fuckery there by the deities. I know it's not like we should be surprised by this point, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be appalled.

I'm sure some of you had really good experiences with dreams, which is nice, but I have a feeling that most of the City didn't, just because that seems to be the modus operandi of the deities. Angst and embarrassment were probably the most common outcomes of the dreams.

I promise, once this thing with the Major is over, we'll get away. Just the two of us.

I don't know, I can't really pin it to any one thing. It's just occasionally I start to doubt things, second-guess myself.

Everyone has moments of self doubt, Romana.

I know that Tony, I'm not dense. These feelings are more profound. When I say I second guess myself I mean everything. And then it goes away, I'm just left with the memory.

I know you're not dense, I didn't mean to imply that.

But the way you're talking concerns me.

I know you didn't I just...I'm saying everything wrong.

Why don't we do a full brain scan on you? Your previous patterns should be on file.

I feel fine, Tony, this is psychological not physical. I think I just need to do some meditation, find the root of all this.

Alright, but if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know. I care about you too much to not be worried to see you like this.

You and Rain, it's like neither of you can really see how amazing you are.

I'll get it sorted eventually, I promise. In the meantime...please don't think it any fault of yours. That really would upset me, you've been nothing but wonderful to me and I'd hate to see you blame yourself.

Alright, if you say it isn't I believe you. But if you need something from me Romana? Anything at all, just ask.

And if there's anything I can do to help, please let me. That's part of being in a relationship, letting the other person help you.

[There's a knock at his door.]

[Tony opened the door and immediately pulled Romana into a hug. One he was sure he wouldn't be pulled away from.]

[She wouldn't pull away, and in fact wrapped her arms around his neck and held on as tightly as he. The only thing she's wanted since waking from that awful nightmare were his arms around her and his voice in her ear - the only things she was certain would make that growing voice in the back of her head be quiet for awhile.]

[Tony continued to just hold her close, surprised at how tightly she was clinging to him. Still, he was glad that he could be here for her right now.]

It's okay, I'm here and I'm not letting you go.

[She relaxed a bit, still with her arms around him and sighed.]

I know.

[Tony softly kissed her on the top of the head, glad to hear that she knew he wasn't going anywhere.]

I'm glad you came. It means a lot.

[She tried a rueful laugh as she looked up.]

Waking up alone was fairly awful, it was this or spend the day crying. I figured this would be better for both of us.

[Tony leaned forward and softly kissed her on the lips.]

Maybe you shouldn't wake up alone for a few days. Are you hungry? I can make you something to eat.

[She gave another sigh and shook her head.]

No. I mean "no", I'm not hungry - not "no I...oh, never mind. Honestly, despite the sleep I'm still exhausted, I just want to relax for awhile.

[Tony stepped away just a bit but held on to her hand as he lightly pulled her towards his room.]

They why don't we just lay down then? You can just rest while I hold you.

[She frowned a bit, but still followed.]

I don't want to interrupt you day just because I haven't slept well.

I don't want you to feel like you can't see me for any reason at all, big or small, because you're worried about interrupting my dad.

[Tony turned to face her.]

Nothing here is more important to me than you.

[The intensity and concern in his face startled Romana.]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to- I...oh, bother.

I know you didn't.

[Tony reached out and cupped her cheek with his hand.]

But I want you to know how much of a priority you are to me.
